BEE
BEE is a short bee-sim about being a blue-banded bee. You are a bee. That is basically the game.
Blue-banded bees are buzz pollinators: they use high frequency vibrations to pummel more deeply held pollens from the anthers of plants, which is cool as hell.
BEE is a game prototype built within a week while I learn Godot, inspired by Douglas Wilson and Bennett Foddy's GDC talk: Game a Week: Teaching Students to Prototype.
THEME: WEIRD INPUT
The direction from the syllabus: "when we talk about weird input here we want you to focus on subverting or repurposing “traditional” controllers (e.g. keyboard, mouse, phone, controller) rather than building your own." While making these game-a-week prototypes, I've learned to love playing music again, so the movement in this game borrows heavily from the mechanics of arpeggios and trills. I've really loved working on this game, I loved modelling a little blue-banded bee and making its butt wiggle.
Thanks for playing <3
